The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT) was founded in London in 1963 and now represents 2 000 members in more than 90 countries around the world. The membership includes toxicologists engaged in law enforcement, government and private forensic toxicology laboratories, academia, sports doping as well as other areas involving toxicology activities.

The local organizing committee and I are looking forward to welcoming you and the TIAFT community to St.Gallen, the major city of the eastern region of Switzerland, close to the German and Austrian boarders. St.Gallen is easily accessible by road and train both within the country as well as from all neighbouring countries. Easy, worldwide reachability through Zurich airport as a major european hub is only 40 minutes away.

Furthermore, the meeting will be joint with the annual meeting of the Society of Hair Testing (SOHT) as well as a joint session with the International Council on Alcohol Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS) will take place. This combination of specialties will attract many key specialists from Switzerland, wider Europe and across the world. Therefore TIAFT 2024 will provide unique access to potential and existing customers in the field of analytical toxicology and beyond.

The conference will be held at the renowned Olma Congress Centre (OLMA) in the heart of St.Gallen. The OLMA is a modern purpose build facility for public exhibitions, conferences and other events. It annually hosts the most popular public fair in Switzerland. The OLMA provides extensive exhibition and lecture areas. We have chosen a setup focussed to highlight the exhibition part. All exhibitors, all poster presentations, screens for flash poster presentations, all breaks and meals will be scattered in the huge exhibition hall. The lecture hall will be right next to the exhibition area, so that delegates will mingle in all lecture breaks in the exhibition area. This setup will provide you with continued access to delegates to maximise exhibitor exposure.

With the annual meeting returning to Switzerland after Geneva 2009, we invite you to participate, exhibit and/or sponsor at this major event. Topics of the conference will include post­mortem, clinical, employment/occupational and human behaviour toxicology as well as drug­facilitated crime, toxicology in sports and the latest innovations in analytical toxicology. Due to the location and transport access, we anticipate around 700 programme delegates with additional day­rate attendees. This includes practitioners and decision makers in workplace drug testing, forensic and clinical toxicology and doping control.
