Day 1 - Monday
On Monday we start the two-day journey from St. Gallen towards Lake Thun. After a snack stop at the Bahnhof restaurant in Sachseln, the journey continues direction Innertkirchen to the Aare Gorge. From there you have the opportunity to cross the Aare Gorge by foot (optional). The impressive path leads you through the gorge.
Afterwards we enjoy lunch at the Restaurant Aareschlucht in Meiringen.
After a short journey, we reach the Frutal bakery in Meiringen, which produces the delicious meringues. During a guided tour of the production, you will gain an insight into the history and production of the white delicacies. There will also be time enjoy a dessert in the in-house café.
In the late afternoon, after a pleasant car journey to Brienz, you can make yourself comfortable in the hotel and have enough time to explore Brienz itself or take a walk along the lake.
Day 2 - Tuesday
The day begins with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before we take the bus to Habkern to visit the alphorn maker Bernatone. Enjoy the sounds of this beautiful instrument and learn about the traditional craft of alphorn making.
Afterwards the bus will take you to Interlaken to the jetty for a leisurely trip across across Lake Thun to Thun. You will enjoy a delicious lunch during the boat trip.
On the return journey towards eastern Switzerland we stop for a snack at the Kollerhuus in Schenkon. The Kollerhuus is famous for its beautiful rose garden. In the evening we will be back. You can either come back to St. Gallen or get off at Zurich Airport (arrival time tbd)
It is located in the heart of the village of Brienz, in the old part of the village with its unique wooden chalets and village alleys (Brunngasse), and direct access to the lake promenade. The Brienzerburli is known far and wide - not only from the yodelling song of the same name, original little farmhouse, but also as a hotel and restaurant with its hotel's own patisserie.
